Looking for Speed

Ok, prop guys and girls I'm running a 2001 35' Fountain single step 502 Bravo I 1.5 ratio.
Yesterday I ran it w.o.t. 5100rpm 26p Bravo 1, props turn inward 76mph can i get anymore out of this thing with a prop change?

Hello Racer-X6,

Well with a slip of 5% my advice to you would be, don't touch a thing! Now we are assuming that your gears are indeed a 1.5, your prop is a true 26P Bravo I ( which is really a 25P), your tach is dead on and your gps is accurate. If any of these numbers are off then we would be getting a false indication of your slip. But it appears that your dial in work thus far, is paying off. You could certainly consider other propellers but I don't believe that you will gain much on top. Even if we lab Finish a prop, it would be impossible to say that we could reproduce that 5%. Are you sure about your numbers/readings being accurate?

racer x6,

Julie's right. Your slip is a little over 5%. That's almost too good to be true. Leaving well enough alone isn't a bad idea.

There is one possibility to gain on the top. Is your 26 Bravo 1 box stock? Give us a call or email us if you would like to discuss this further.

Re: Looking for Speed

Brett, as far as I know the props are stock. The #'s I posted are what I experienced. the speed would change from 75-76 back and forth. The weather conditions were 75 deg. light chop in salt water full tank of fuel and 3 people no other gear. The only mod I have done to the motors is a set of Stainless Marine exhaust and a fresh water cooling system

Oh, and a fresh coat of wax :D
