Thank you Mwdill.

What's your speed at wide open throttle, what gear ratio do you have? Have you changed the drive height?

How does the boat come on plane? Does the prop have the diffuser ring?

With that kind of power you shouldn't need more bow lift. Your current prop is closer to 15" diameter now. I wouldn't go any smaller than 15".

Hello Warlocking,

I'm assuming you have a high X dimention. Do you know what it is? This may be the key.

ok,so far the fastest the boat has gone is 103 mph@6000rpm its a 1:50 ratio/its a bravo xr with a 1"imco shortie lower/comes on plane pretty easy, but not as good as it used to with the stock lower/its a 32 lab15 1/4 diam.,with the difuser ring still on it/840hp blower motor/seems to lift the ass up and then starts to power hop a little

not sure exactly what it is but the boat was originally a f-1 race boat.the drive is still below the bottom a few inches.when we put the 1" shortie on i picked up 3 mph.but the boat dont seem to be as stable in rough water

Your prop shaft should now be about 2 1/4" below the bottom of the hull. Which F1 boat did this used to be? I did prop work on a lot of the F1 boats, it may be a boat I worked with.

Your rough water stability will be enhanced with more blades. For the ultimate we have had great success with 6 blade props on boats like yours. The prop really stays hooked up in rough water and adds stability at high speeds. Another option would be to go with a 5 blade. If you want to try a 5 blade we have them available as test props.

The handling issues are most likely due to raising the drive.

If the boat handles good at top speed I would agree you should try a 5bl prop. Your slip is over 12%. It should be a little lower.

A 5bl just may be the ticket here.

I'm assuming the bow doesn't try to drop at WOT.

matt im going to have to give you a call,i tried a hydromotive 6 blade 28,but i didnt get to test it long enough, the boat went 100 with the boost turned down w/that wheel and i realy didnt turn it as high as i could have.will the boat be faster with the right 6 blade?another thing is since i have put the shortie on the boat it likes to surface the prop in snottie water?
