Prop ? baja 320
I am planning on getting some new props for my 320 soon. Right now it has 23 mirage props not labbed . IT turns around 5250 right now at 69 and some change on gps. Id like to drop the rpms a little and pick up more on top. The props were turning out at the time of the run on gps, now they are turning in. Haven't run the boat since.
thanks |
Re: Prop ? baja 320
25's should drop you in the 4800 rpm
range. I've ridden and driven that model of boat with inside rotation, it's not a fun ride  |
Re: Prop ? baja 320
A natural progression would be 25 Mirage Plus Lab Finished puts you at 5150 if the 23's are Plus's.

Re: Prop ? baja 320
The props I have now are not mirage plus, just regular mirage. I switched the props because that is the way they were original, I just bought the boat and the shop where it was stored switched the props. I figured I would try it the way it came from the factory (turning in) to see how it does, as opposed to switching the cables. Will the props turning in make a difference in the speed on the top end?

Re: Prop ? baja 320
Yes,
Typically you will see an increase in your top end by turning the propellers in however you will typically loose some performance and handling characturistics. It would be heplful to know a bit about your boat. What motors do you have? What drive and gear ratio? WOT RPM with propellers turning in? WOT MPH (gps) with the propellers turning in? With a little info I am sure we can get you dialed in! Julie |
Re: Prop ? baja 320
The boat may feel a little light in the bow with inward rotation.
As with any major change, be careful your first time out. especially with the trim button. I still like Lab Finished 25P Mirage Plus's on your rig. They will put you where you want to be with either rotation. The recipe may have to be changed slightly to accommodate the rotation you decide on. |
