Matching a prop
Hey -- I broke a prop shaft last week and lost one of my props. I have a spare set of Spinellis but they are too nice to run all the time. Should I send the remaining prop off to get matched, or should I just buy a new pair? (Still have the lh, need the rh.)
Props are 14.5 x 30 3-blade cleavers running on 2.5 efi's with the Sportmaster lowers. |
Re: Matching a prop
As I'm sure you are aware, Spinelli is out of business. I'm sorry to tell you we don't have many Spinelli props currently. If you can find a RH, we would be happy to assist you in the matching of the 2 props.
If your considering new props, we would love help you make an appropriate choice. |
Re: Matching a prop
Who manufactured your other set of props? I assume they are Mercury cleavers. If they are they are probably lab finished. I would highly recomend sending your remaining prop in when buying the replacement so the new prop can be matched. Aspects such as cup, chord length, pitch and diameter need to matched to your remaining prop to make sure both props run the same. It is also a great opportunity to have your remaining prop checked.
