Julie, I have finally decided to send you my 28 B 1 for labbing.. Here are my specifics..

05 288 sunsation, small full step, pad, small notch, 496 HO

current speeds and slip:

W/ 26 B1 69-70 mph @ 5100 w/ 17.5 % slip
W/ 28 B1 69 mph @ 4800 w/ 18.5 % slip

I know you said B1 are approx. 1 inch lower in pitch, so my slip is less....

holeshot and midrange are fine w/ both props, so I'm looking to lab my 28 and get the rpm's back up to 5,100, and some top end..

I would anticipate an RPM of around the 5050 with the lab finishing process. The 496 HO's peak HP is at about 5000. Certainly getting yor RPM back up to 5000 RPM is going improve the likelyhood of experiencing peak top end! I would expect to see about a 2-3 MPH increase. The cost of Lab Finishing your propeller is $400.00 which includes one additional adjustment at no charge for the servicing.
