It's Time.... What do I need?

Spoke once early last year when we took delivery and now out of warranty and ready to do something. Just don't know where money would be best spent. We would like....what else, but some more top end.

We are lake boaters (Dale Hollow flat water) do allot of cruising and have some wot fun in between. Here is our hardware and numbers.

2005 35 Lightning with 500 EFI's
XR drives 1:50:1, spinning stock 30 Bravo's inward rotation.
I really baby the drives out of the hole but the port always spins up about 500rpm quicker and must split the throttles to bring up to 2500 match. Hotshot is not important and am comfortable with plane times.

WOT is 4900 rpm with tabs at 2 and drives at 4.5
solid 84 with 1/2 tank, 2 on board and no chop.

Looking for suggestion on what we can do and what kind of approximate costs we are getting into.

Nice to hear from you again. After we talked last year we talked about you checking the throttle cables, engines, etc to see if there was an explanation why you see a difference in the rpm when getting on plane.

Is the speed of 84 GPS?
If it is a GPS speed are you sure about the accuracy of the tachs?

I assume you have the HP 500 motor, in that case we want to see the rpm higher than the current 4900. Something close to 5200 would be ideal. There are several ways to get there. The best thing in your case would be to have the propellers blueprinted, this would give you the rpm and an increase in speed.

Lab Finishing is $400.00 for a 4B propeller which includes one additional adjustment at NO CHARGE for the servicing.

Thanks for quick reply. Speed is GPS, and regarding tach, Livorsi gauges but have not externally check rpm to tach #'s.

RPM's hold dead even after planeing through mid-range and split ever so slightly at wot. I can see 5000 out of port if I peg both sticks.

I have read somewhere that Bravo's are not necessarily matched and can produce this rpm diff.... any truth, because if not I will work with LCM more to match up.

Any mass produced prop can be off a little and cause a difference in rpm between motors. I wouldn't chase a motor issue just yet.

I am a little suspicious of the rpm as the slip seems to be a little too low. Before you have any prop work done that would raise the rpm I would verify the accuracy of the tachs.

My boat used to be named Summer Heat... two owners ago... as I understand it the guy was a hot head and got in trouble with the coasties up here... so the guy I bought it from changed the name to avoid any hassle with the coasties! Makes me the 3rd owner. And the longest owner... going on 11 years

I need to get on that name thread, our house at Dale Hollow is Summer Breeze....so boat name just seemed to fit.

Just trying to squeeze out a little more heat with props before we jump into real $$$

One of the final steps in the production of the Bravo 1 box stock propellers is to remove the trailing edge addendum. Depending on the technician and the day for that matter, the material removed can vary. This can cause minor rpm deviations. These are typically more evident at the throttle stops where we assume the opening is identical. Sometimes easier to notice than at mid throttle settings.

Post your Lab Finishing, the props should match as well as the rpm.

It depends on who you are talking to.

When BBLADES Lab Finishes a propeller, it is a blueprinted propeller. Labbing includes thickness and other adjustments.

BBLADES does offer blueprinting that isn't a full Lab process. This procedure would involve truing the propellers cups and balancing it precisely.
