Prop Suggestions for Yamaha 200 OB
 

I just bought this boat a week ago, a '86 20' Seekcraft SST tunnel hull w 200 Yama OB, (W Boyesen reeds and cowl vents) from the same year.
I run it on a small river, flat water, wakes and chop.

Second day out I had it at 70 mph w 2 full tanks at half trim.
It has a 25, 3 blade, ski prop on it and the previous owner told me it woukd be faster w a 24 or 23, (I thought bigger numbers were faster?)

Anyway, I don't ski, I just like to go fast. what prop would give me max top end w/o sacrificing too much midrange? (racing from low throttle roll ons w other jets and V drives)

What is the make and model of the propeller you are using now?

Hands down, a Lightning ET.

This is the prop for your boat to achive max top speed and blistering acceleration!

What rpm are you turning the engine with your 25? See if you can get me a part number off the current prop. We may suggest a 26P ET.

I'm turning about 5800-6k RPM on 50% trim.
Wait the sun is coming out, I'll go for s spin and check it out again and pay attention

Any guess to increase of top speed improvement?

The boat is docked ass out and the boat is longer then the dock so it's kinda hard to see the prop just now.

She will be out of the water next week so I can check for sure then.

You may want to consider a Hdyromotive QIV-X O/T. I believe this prop workd well with similar set-ups.
