Does this sound normal? Suggestions?
Trying to find correct prop. Here's where i'm at:
28' Scarab Excel - 5000 lbs - single eng: Last year - ran 468 w/procharger - 5800 RPM, 74MPH using a labbed 28" bravo. (yes large slip factor) This year runing 540 w/procharger, dyno'd close to 900 HP in perfect world. I tried runing a stock 32" bravo one - results were 4900 RPM and 76 mph. Goal is 80 MPH at 5500 rpm. Looking for some help! |
Re: Does this sound normal? Suggestions?
With the current high slip of 21.5%, Labbing the 32P puts you at 5200 rpm and 80.66mph. With the slight increase in slip % you'll still be there.
If you must have 5500 rpm, the 30P Labbed will put you at 5500 rpm and 79.86 mph minus the slip increase you're probably looking at 79mph. You may benefit from lowering the drives 1-2" or moving the c.g. rearward. You may see an over all performance gain by doing this. Otherwise, achieving your top end goals as the boat is set up, can be attainable. |
