difference in gear ratio's

I'm running 15x32 3 blades at 6400 rpms @ WOT with 20" sporty lowers and 1.62's. what would happen if i converted to 1.75's ? the engines are 300x's

Hi,

Your rpms will go up to around 6700, throttle response would improve, planing would be quicker, speed would be about the same or slightly less.

Mainly, improved throttle response.

thank you...a friend of mine just went the opposite way in an I/O boat. went from 1.50's to 1.35's and lost 700 rpms.
