Test results on my hydromotive p5x
Well we had the last week to test these props on my 358 Sonic
with 525's
the props were 26 pitch
What I found was a incredable increase in fuel economy
Also pickup 4-6mph from 2800 to 3600 rpm
The boat planes MUCH faster.
The only draw back was a loss in WOT mph
but that loss was only 2mph. And with all the gains I feel that
on our trip last week which was around 350 miles I will pay for the props in fuel savings . I have run both 30 pitch B1 lab props and just removed the 28 B1's lab props and put on the p5x.
If top speed is all you care about these may not work for you.
But if you cruise you can't beat them .
Oh and a big Thank You to Throttles UP!!

Re: Test results on my hydromotive p5x
I am running the same P-5X's but 27 pitch on the same model 358 Sonic with 525 power and I picked up 2 MPH over the Bravo 1's. I also experienced excellent performance in other areas as mentioned above by Roadrunner.

I know these are old but hopeing you can remember. I have a 03 358 with 525efis. running 27p hydros. were you running with the props turning in or out? mine are turning in and thinking of changing it, im wondering if I have too much bow lift.

Completely different boat , but the P5x 25p I have on my Stingray did all the things you said except I squeaked 1mph more than any of my worked 24 or 25 Bravos. Very happy with it. It is slightly slower out of the whole that the 24/25 Bravo XS, but it has 1 more inch of real pitch and another blade. Very stable at 80 with my boat, all other props I have to drive the thing.
Griff, didn't even notice that. Thanks for pointing that out.

Swith the props and run with sticks in reverse. It is a simple test and you can determine what boat attitude you prefer. There isn't a correct way only a personal preference.
