Props to low in water
Can any one tell me how to check the X-demension on a 1997 35 fountain, and what should it be? I have stock bravo drives and stelling extension boxes. I think the drives are to low in the water. with the drives trimmed all the way out , the drives will not put any water above the surface. I think this is scrubbing off speed. But the boat comes on plane like a jet ski and at top speed it is not putting out any water only around the motor comp. This tells me if it running on top pretty good but does not feel loose at all. ????????????????

Re: Props to low in water
Give us the distance above or below the bottom of the lowest point of the hull. Also the distance of the set back from the boxes.
The drives must be trimmed parallel to the running surface. |
Re: Props to low in water
The stellings boxes are adjustable with 3 different height positions. Are they already as high as they go???

Re: Props to low in water
I am going to the lake to check it out tonight. All I can tell you at this time is with the drives trimmed all the way out, and at this point they hit my swim platform there is no prop spray above the surface. I have Had lots of boats and could throw a rooster 5feet tall although I know this takes away speed. mine will not throw one above the running surface. I know the new 35 throws one and out runs me hands down. This is why I thought maybe my drives could be raised.???????

Re: Props to low in water
Sounds like the boxes are mounted as high as they can be and you will need some shorty lowers.

Here is page from TRS manual about X Dimension. I had shrink the scan to be able to post it but I think if you open in PhotoEditor or similar you can resize and read most of it.
