502,

Still testing props, and spacers.

About to upgrade my motor to aprox 750 hp.

Just thought my testing and data, may be of some assistance.

After re-reading your post... you definately need to lower your outdrive via spacers. The fact that it takes a 6-blade to even marginally hook up, along with the lack of bow lift says you need to go lower.

I have done spacer testing recently, with my prop shaft centerline starting at 3.5 inches below the keel. In half inch increments, I lowered the outdrive using spacers. Every time I lowered it, I picked up speed.

Attached is the spreadsheet I made.

Hope this helps,

Chris

Why didn't you try the Hering 5 blades without the spacer? Did you ever try a Maximus? Do you have rocker in your pad? Is that a step hull boat??

It does help...Thanks for the info Chris!!!!!!!

502,

The original prop delivered with the boat was a 28 Maximus. Boat went 77 mph with 16% slip.

After talking to Brett at BBlades this morning, I will try going up in 1/2 increments while testing the Herrings.

My boat is in the Portland boat show right now, and then will be in the Seattle boat show, so there is a delay in testing untill Febuary.

You can give me a call if you want, and I will further discuss my findings.
