Well, it might be a little more than 100HP?
- The first engine I had in the boat was a stock 310HP/7.4MPI.
- The second engine is a 415HP/502MagMPI that I rebuilt with a few mods. The heads were milled 0.010 and bowl ported. I'm also running Stainless Marine exhaust instead of the cast iron crap. Other than those changes, it's stock...

I figured there had to be some other magic in there somewhere. Thats probably 150+ total, I know what a good port job will do. :chimp:

We currently have a sale going on. 4 Blade props are $360.00. That is with a polish finsih.

Good point, for many a couple mph doesn't mean much. But for those who have put a lot of money into motors and thier boats, prop work is the cheapest speed on the market.

Figure about $1000-$1500 for each additional mph in motor work. For a few hundred dollars it's possible to pick up 2-3 mph. That works outs to $100 per mph, very cheap in the boating industry.

Another major benfit, which is hard to put a price on, is having the prop tuned to the boat. Sometimes prop adjustments will completely change the personality of the boat. We have had customers who were considering selling thier boat change thier mind after getting the right prop and having it adjusted to thier liking.

Does prop work improve every boat? No, sometimes a stock prop works best on a certain boat. It's up to the owner to deceide what they want from the boat and what they want to spend for it.

Well Said Matt; 1-3 mph is worth the $$ to me...
In my case, I am leaning toward buying/trying a different prop before having any mods done to my current prop.
