Question for prop experts - 292 Fastech

292 Formula Fastech - twin 6.2's (320 HP), 1.65-1 Bravo 1's, and 28 pitch labbed finished Bravo props.

I have only 3 hours seat time in this brand new 292. Opened it up twice on sticky, flat water and saw 69.1 mph GPS at 5100 rpm. Getting on plane takes a little time. I bring the engines up to 3000-3500 rpm and the props will slip as it noses over.

These Bravo 1 outdrives have trim-in limit spacers located at the anchor pin of the trim cylinders. Formula elected to move the spacers so the drives will not tuck in quite as far as normal. This is likely a safety decision to prevent someone completely inexperienced from running wide open tucked all the way in.

Anyway, here's the question. I would like to move the spacers to get those last few degrees of negative trim back in hopes of improving my planing performance. Are any of you familiar with an application similar to this and what were the results. Thanks! :drink:

Re: Question for prop experts - 292 Fastech

Make sure no part of the outdrive touches anything that will damaged when tucked completely forward and in a turn. You should be fine then with the removal. Did you contact Thunderbird?
