Suggestions on prop and shorties
 

I run a 1993 Profile V bottom, bravo 1's, 24 pitch 4 blade bravos, stock 330hp 454's, top speed is about 60 (I lost 1 mph going to 4 bladed screws) Top RPM is about 4600.

I am considering 2" imco shorties, headers, aluminuim intake, holly carb, I would like to get RPM back to 5000 or so, and top speed up to about 300 mph, but since that amy be a little high, 70 mph would be good.

70 will be tough with the current hp. Lab Finishing the Bravo's should put you in the 63 mph range. Going to the shorties will give you the rpm you need but the slip may grow too much to gain alot of speed. My thoughts are to turn the props in and see what happens. Labbing would be the next step.

Send The Props To Brett And Have Him Work Them To Spin In Not Out. Their Is A Difference. I Hope You Have Good Steering When You Have To Fly It You Need It. In = More Bowlift With Less Trim

Before doing any engine work you should do some research here on the board about the 330 hp 454. It's not a great base engine for any substantial horsepower increases. I have had customers do the modifications you have listed to the same motor you have with no change in the power of the motor. It will still need to run at 4600 to get the max speed from it.

As far as shorties go you may be able to get away with 1" higher but 2" may cause the bow to fall too much and result in excessive slip with no speed gain.

If you did engine work and increased the power where the motor could turn the props you have now at 5000 you should expect to see about 66 mph.

If you try to turn the props in be careful, as with any set up change.
