Bravo one v Maximus
We have labbed 28 bravo one props today and would like to test some Maximus props, witch pitch Maximus would give the same rpm as the 28 labbed bravos.
Thanks for any help. |
Re: Bravo one v Maximus
24's and they will also have to be worked. to get the same rpm.

Re: Bravo one v Maximus
I heard the Maximus needs to be cut down. The prop has way too much bite for the Bravo drives and is just eating them up. Maybe it's just a rumor??? Seems like by the time you buy a prop, and send it in to get worked you are looking at a whole lot of money for a prop that may or may not work for you.

Re: Bravo one v Maximus
Box stock to box stock, pitch to pitch from Bravo 1 to Maximus can decrease rpm by as much as 600.
There are large differences in the blade area, diameter and geometry. The whole idea of more blades destroying drives is multi faceted. If you run a 500 efi with a XR drive and a Maximus, the drive will last longer than the same set up with a Q4 or Bravo prop. The reason is the constant loads from more blades steadies the stress on the drive components. Now if you want to put 800 hp through the same drive and you aren't easy on the sticks, yes the ability to hook up and not slip because of the blade area of the 5blades, you're going to break things. Run the 3 or 4 blade with that power and the inefficiency's may buy you another season. A blanket statement that 5 blades break more drives is just plain false. |

Great info as always, very much appreciated and I look forward to trying out some of your props here very soon !! |
