Drive shower pickup tube length
Does the length of the drive shower pickup tube affect prop performance? If so, how much tube should extend below cavitation plate?

Re: Drive shower pickup tube length
Yes it can.
Just enough tp expose the angle of intake. |
Re: Drive shower pickup tube length
Thanks, how does the length effect prop performance?

Re: Drive shower pickup tube length
It can effect water flow to the propeller.

Re: Drive shower pickup tube length
Depending on the placement, angle and length, the tube can cause a ventilating issue to the face of the propeller blades.
This scenario is relatively rare. Also, as related to performance in general, anything in the water flow creates drag. |

That's why I use this type of "pick up"! :D

Re: Drive shower pickup tube length
Julie/Brett, pick up tube downstream of the prop can effect water flow to the prop? My IMCO drive shower tip extends 1 1/4" below cavation plate and is less than 1/4" from prop tip. This is too close?
