Help in proping Fountain??????
1994 Fountain 38 fever with stock '99 Merc 502 EFI's and bravo 1's.
I need to know what props for maximum speed. Thanks |
Re: Help in proping Fountain??????
Most likely Lab Finished Bravo 1's or Hydro Q-4's

Re: Help in proping Fountain??????
bblade,
What pitch and how many blades? What are some prices I can expect? |
Re: Help in proping Fountain??????
Pitch is dependent on horsepower to weight ratio.
Do you have a baseline from running any other propellers on the boat? If not, do you know an accurate wet weight? I think I know exactly what you need but, this information will solidify it. |
Re: Help in proping Fountain??????
I don't know a solid weight. All I know is it is a stock 38 fever and the only thing added is a westerbeak generator.
This is a friend's boat so i don't know the exact figures, sorry. :( BB, what were you thinking???? |
Re: Help in proping Fountain??????
I think it weighs around 8600 dry. Running 4 blade 24 pitch props and stops making power at 4800RPMs.

Re: Help in proping Fountain??????
The stock 502's should run about 5000 RPM at WOT for max top end. If you can provide us with any performance data it will be helpful in determining what propellers will achieve your freinds goals. THe cost of Bravo I props is $509.99 with solid hub and the cost of Hydro QIV's is the same without hubs. Additionally we will need to know the gear ratio of the drives as well. Both props will run welll on the 35', but it really depends on the driver and what he wants out of the boat.
