I'd like to turn a few more rpms.
 

I'm running twin 454mags now putting out 425 hp, in a 34' Super Hawaii. I'm spinning labbed 25" Mirage Plus at 4600 rpm and getting 67-68 gps top speed. That is only 7-8% slip.
Over the winter I took out a very slight hook maybe a 1/16" in the last 4" of my hull and took out most of a 1/8" rocker that was about 4' from the transom. After the bottom work I have picked up 200 rpm and 4mph. When trimming up I don't have the propshafts up to level with the bottom yet. I stop trimming when I don't gain any more speed.
I would like to get my rpm up to 4900-5000. How can I do that?

So you said you picked up 200 RPM with the bottom work, so are you running 4800 now?

If you are at 4600 your correct on the slip #. If you are at 4800, the slip is 11%.

The prop can be worked more to get the extra 200 rpm. However, the Mirage props can be tricky. You can get the rpm and lose the speed. It depends on who did the first Lab work and then on what we see when we look at the prop.

I am at 4600 now. Houston Propellar did the prop work for me.
I like the slip numbers I have. It seems to run higher in the water than last year, I think my bottom work is paying off.
It is a staggered setup by the way.

We can get 200 more out of those.

Can't get to 59-6000 though without increasing slip or depitching them.

We find that many of the HP props are not worth re-working. We typically won't work on them for a variety of reasons.

I would be careful about putting a lot of money in those props.

That's why we have to see the props before making the final determination. Depending on who did the props and at what point in their careers, we see different and inconsistent product.

Anyone have a right handed 25p Mirage, not plus. I have a left handed . I'd like to complete the set for spares.
