Turning props in or out
I did a search but nothing come up. Can anyone tell me the difference it would make ,swapping props from lt to rt .I have a 30 daytona & 34 props & it seems in a turn that the nose kinda rolls away from the turn ? Thanks for any help The last of the pn# in the lt is 122 and a 121 on the rt.

I have a 28 Daytona running 32s or 34s depending on where I'm running. Mine turn in. I ran them turned out one summer with the 32s. It turned better, ran better in rough water, docked easier, had more stern lift, but porpoised in the 70 - 80 mph range if running on flat water. We do a lot of river running on flat water and that is our cruising speed.
I have more stern lift with the 34s, so I didn't even try turning them out. On the Daytonas, it will depend on your set up. The factory put the drives at different heights and separation. Having standoff boxes or shortie drives will make a difference. You just have to try it and see. It didn't more than 30 minutes to switch the cables in the shifters on mine. |

Our Top Gun deep V handles better turning out .
Our 377 Talon Cat was out right dangerous at speeds over 110MPH turning out, we switched her #6s to turn in, now she's glued to the water at any speed. I recommend switching and testing each way,i'm glad we did. Good Luck! |

We used to set all those boats up turning out for top speed. We have found exactly what rbtnt said to be true in most situation. Cruising is better turning in to control the porpoise. Top end may require negative trim however. Out stern lift, in bow lift. You should try both and make your own determination.
Be careful any time you try reversing the rotation for the first time! |
