What 5 blades

I have a 99 38 Powerquest with 525sc and 12" boxes 1.5 lowers. I lost a prop last weekend so I am deffinatly ready now. I am wondering which set I should try first. Any thoughts?

Also does anyone have a 4 blade 30 pitch bravo rt turn they may want to sell?

Thanks Rich.

Re: What 5 blades

I would recommend a Hydromotive P5-X for your application in a 5B configuration.

Most every manufacturer or distributor is going to suggest their version.

Food for thought....we developed and tested the Maximus propeller on a 38 Powerquest here in Wisconsin.

Re: What 5 blades

It depends on the manufacturer. What rpm and speed were you running with the stock 30's before it got lost?

You may need something in the 29 range from Hydromotive or a 30 Maximus.

Re: What 5 blades

You will need to go to the 28 Maximus inorder to turn them with your set up. Even when Labbed.

You will never turn 30 Max to the point you need to.

Keep in mind I am running the 32 maximus labbed and get 84 at 4950/5000 with 575'sci's on a 38 PQ. With your HP the 30'S should work?

I have a set of 29 p5x being sent to me to try with the added hp I think that is a good starting point. Thanks perfmary.

Look forward to hearing how they work out. Make sure you post the results . My 32'S are a bit steep and I would like to drop to something in the 29/30 range. Your results should help to figure it out.
Will you have them at the shoot out ?
