Replace Solid Rubber Hub?

I've got a Mazco HP4 25p that randomly in the middle of a mid speed lake run spun the hub. There was no damage to the prop since I didn't hit anything. I was able to still use the prop to get back 1,500 max rpm. Tried a different prop and it worked fine. Question is, can I get the solid hub replaced??

Re: Replace Solid Rubber Hub?

If you currently have a rubber hub in your prop then it could be replaced with another rubber hub, possibly one with a stiffer rubber depending on the hub type. A solid hub could be welded in as well, again depending on the hub type.

Do you have the type of hub where you have to use a castellated washer before putting the nut on? Or does your hub type have the castellated portion already built into the hub? Do you have the mercury Flo Torque hub system? Depending on what type of hub you have will dictate what options you have.

The castellated portion is already built into the hub, yet the setup I use has a nut and lock washer that is used with a cotter pin. The engine is a 2000 Johnson 225 hp V6 EFI 2 stroke. The factory prop had a solid metal hub.

I do not use a mercury flo-torq II system

Sounds like you have a Mercury hub that has been modified to work on a Johnson/Evinrude/OMC. Can you post a picture of the aft and forward end of the hub area? I am fairly sure what hub set up you have but a picture would help me know for sure.
