Bow lifter VS Stern Lifter...Props

So I have been thinking about this for a while, I know I should post this in the props section and will also but thought it might get a little more play here. So what dictates which prop you need? how does one know if the boat needs a stern lifter or a bow lifter? I know what the difference means but is it more of a step hull thing VS a deep 24* straight bottom thing. I understand that step hulls like to run flat and most have pad bottoms to go with it, whereas a stright bottom 24 * deadrise boat usually has no pad to ride on and needs to carry the bow to reduce wetted surface. All of the step boats I see these days are running higher X dim and 5 bladed wheels. I have a twin step Donzi 27 ZX with a 500 EFI/ Bravo one drive with a 2 inch shorty that I keep thinking needs the bow lift so I have a Bravo I prop with some rake and aditional cup put in it to carry the bow. Performance is good but I have never run a stern lifting prop on the boat per say and am wondering if a stern lifter would help it ride higher in the water and more on the pad.......an anyone shed some light on this subject? JUst some thought on my part.....

I have a 27' V Carrera and I run a Bravo 1 26'' w/ 502 and let me tell you I have plenty of stern lift. I get major air off of 1 ft. swells. That is when Im trimmed out to the max.
