Hydromotive help
Sounds a little silly but here's the question:
Bought a pair of hydromotive quad fours with solid hubs that were supposed to be for standard bravo 1 drive shafts. They fit fine on the spline but they are too short for the usual bravo nut to hold them on. Is there an adapter for hydromotives that needs to be purchased when using the solid hub props and where would I get them? It seems the "hub" of the hydros come up about 1/4 inch short of the threaded part of the splines so I'm assuming the adapter must be on the inside part of the shaft to bring the prop back some to butt up to the nut. Or am I simply missing something???? |
Re: Hydromotive help
To mount the Hydromotive props with the weld in 15 spline hub you will need the following, in the following order;
Standard Mercury thrust washer Prop Continuity washer (many no not use this) Washer 12-31211A 3 (we refer to this as the old style aft adapter) Locking Tab washer Nut The washer 12-31211a will fit over the short piece of spline still visible. This is an important piece as it properly locates the aft end of the prop on the prop shaft. |
