Cleavers for XR
Are there cleaver props for xr drives?
|
Re: Cleavers for XR
Yes,
You can use OB cleavers for XR drives. We at BBLADES have the ability to offer special diameter and and special Labbing techniques for OB clleavers that no other company can offer! Call us for more information. |

Are you talking about something like this?
We manufacture these in 4, 5 and 6 blade configurations. Diameter is available up to 16". This particular prop was manufactured for an outboard application. It is another of our CNC props we manufacture in house. As a manufacturer we can manufacture custom propellers to fit many unique applications. We don't typically like to put outboard cleavers on stern drive applications for several reasons. |
Re: Cleavers for XR
I'm talking about true over the hub cleaners.
If the geometry, blade area and diameter are appropriate, why wouldn't you use a propeller that typically goes on a outboard? A outboard propeller only is called outboard because of the size. As a "manufacturer" I'd think you'd know that. These propellers are the same material, heat treated rockwell and designs as any other propeller. In fact they are thicker and stronger in many instances. We can get them at special sizes not published and create the perfect pattern for certain applications. |

Are We Talking 6 Blade Over The Hub Cleavers In A Diameter Of 16 ?
|
Re: Cleavers for XR
Currently we only have the through hub cleavers available. We will have over hub props for 26 spline and Bravo/outboards in a few months. Of course they also will be CNC machined as well.

What are some of the reasons? do they need to spin too fast for the bravo appl to make them work or??? I really like the way cleavers look-M.E.A.N ! :D :D :D |
Re: Cleavers for XR
Prop shaft rpms will run identical or similar from stern drives to OB's. There is no reason not to use OB cleavers on stern drives in the "correct" application!

I really like the way cleavers look-M.E.A.N ! :D :D :D Outboard cleavers are called "outboard cleavers" for a reason. Typically the rake angle is not optimal for stern drive applications, they are usually too thin for the higher weight and power of most stern drive boats and they are usually lacking in blade area, etc. The prop rpm of an outboard is usually about the same as a stern drive. A stern drive at 5400 through a 1.5 gear has a prop shaft rpm of 3600. An outboard turning 6000 rpm through a 1.75 gear set has a prop shaft rpm of 3428 rpm. |
