Default Playing with the ventilation plugs.....

I bought some barely used 30" Maximus for my 30' Daytona and have run them with the 5 pulgs removed- really worked nice for getting on top etc and overall the props are great (last 1/2" of the barrel trimmed off too). I may end up with 32" maximus (Have access to a pair to test) but in the mean time wonder about the ventilation holes.

I'd like to try something in between - a plug with say a 1/2" in hole. is there a merc p/n? buy them from juilie and Matt or just drill the solid plugs I have?

with std 30" Bravo 1's planing was much worse, long time before the props would free up and the nose would roll over

The Merc Vent Plugs are available in 4 different configurations or hole sizes.

No holes, small, medium and large holes. THey are relatively inexpensive as well. YOu could also drill out the plastic yourself and slowly increasing in size and find what may work best for you. I always have them available if you have any issues.

The PVS system was initially designed for OB or through hub exhaust type applications Most performance stern drive applications don't really use the PVS system. If the exhaust passage on your drive isn't sealed you may find ambiant air flowing through the system and affecting the ability to get on plane. This may be your senario since you have experienced a change with the plugs in and out.

Then large opening plug holes measure @ .470"

The part number is 889725047
