How Bent is Bent
I recently bought my current boat and was looking at the prop today. By clamping an allen wrench to the splash plate and turning the prop I noticed that there is about an 1/8th of an inch difference front and back between the blades on my 4 blade Bravo prop.
Is this far enough off to be a problem? The prop seems to perform fine as far as RPM goes but the top speed and cruising speed seems slower than it should be. |
Re: How Bent is Bent
What you measured is not unusual for a stock cast prop. If you are satisfied with the performance and don't notice unusual or excessive vibration it should be fine the way it is.

This would have been the first season I made it though without the props being trashed, it happened on my last time before storing it ! @#$% &%*$
