Re: what props
will a bravo 1 fit my trs's, three or four blade, will it slip enough, will i get enough bite at the same time? when it's all said and done, what kind of gains can i exspect??? help

Re: what props
I tend to agree with the Bravo/1 24p 4-blade suggestion. I can't speak to the compatibility (fit) question but I recently switched from a 3-blade 23p Mirage Plus to a 4-blade 22" Bravo/1 prop for my 23' Baja with a 454 Mag.
The 4-blade seem to provide too much sternlift to my boat so I had the it cupped and extended the pitch to 23" in order to gain some bow lift and retain the 23" spin. It's worked out quite well! With the 4-blade, you'll be pleasantly surprised at the additional "bite" and fantastic mid-range responsiveness. But if your bow needs lift to run efficiently, you'll have to modify (cup) them to obtain it. If the 4-blade can propel your hull properly, I suspect an unlabbed B1 24p should reach close to 4700-4900rpm. With the 24" spin compared to the present 21", it should be a substancial speed increase. |
Re: what props
Grimmy,
Can you please give us further details on your current props and set up. How much throttle do you still have available, if any, when you hit the rev limiter? I would indeed recommend 4B props as well, they will simply carry the boat better and the overall performance will improve as well. Julie |

Re: what props
So I am ssuming that you still have throttle available when you initially hit the limiters. I would think that starting with 24P Bravo I props will give you the information you will need to make a prop decision. I have 24P Bravo I props available for testing when you are ready. Let me know if I can be of assistance.

Re: what props
I just thought I'd throw in another idea.
Stick to the 3 blade props and modify them slightly. Your hull is a big 3 blade fan as far as top speed is concerned. We also have the full line of Mirage Plus, Revolution 4 and Bravo 1 props for testing. Give us a call if we can help. |
