prop size
Have 32ft Advantage Victory with Twin 540Mercury Bulldogs 500hp Blew one up so decided to get more hp
Putting in new Dart 540 dyno@660 hp. 632ft lbs @4,700rpm Would a prop change be needed? Any ideas what to start with? Not sure of the prop on it now but turned 80mph @5200rpm this was never on a gps only speedo so not sure of acuracy.Any ideas?? All help appreciated |

At what RPM is the peak HP produced on the new motors?

I was typing a response when I saw you amended the HP rpm.
You currently have props that are about 28 in pitch. Your current props should run at just about the right rpm for the new motors. They should give you a very good baseline. If any minor adjustments are needed later you can address them after you have a little time on the motors. I would estimate you new top speed to be about 90-91 with the added power. That puts you current props right at 5900. |

Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it. If I ever need prop work or new ones I will definately use you.We were hoping for 90-95mph. Now if the weather will give us a break we will try them out. This site is definately the best!!!!
