OK, Let me get this straight?

If the X dim is moved up, you lose bow lift?
If you run a 4 blade Bravo1 spinning out your lifting the transom?
So if I did both of these and can't seem to get enough bow lift(which is what it feels like to me) what should I do about props?
The Boat is an old 42 non step with boxes and -2 lowers and proped as above.
My other 3 blade Mirage's still seem to get the boat up on plane with no problems.

This is what I came up with on my boat.

Can you tell us how the boat ran before putting the shorter lower units on? Speed, rpm, drive gear ratio, and prop pitch.

This would serve as a baseline to work from.

What are your current performance numbers?

Have you tried turning the props in?

Maybe, not always, but most likely yes.
Yes, more so than turning in.
There are a number of options.

There are many things we have learned over the years about boats like yours.......... I'm guessing a F or C ????

I have spent many hours explaining those attributes on this web site. I see some people learning and using those things now. Heck, the so called "PROS" didn't even know what ratation did. And still to this day people are unsure. They should be, each and every boat is different. This is great! But be careful, not all standard therory works in every situation.

We love to help others not to spend un needed dollars to ultimately get back to where they started. Boats like yours need to be looked at closely before making large changes.

#1 What are the ultimate goals? Then....most importantly....one step at a time.

Call us and we can discuss the options you have.

I know that every boat is different, but I wonder if your X is high enough to get the max benefit from B1's. As a reference, on my boat my X is 3" higher and 10 MPH faster with B1's than at the point where I could barely get my boat on plane with Mirages. The prop is not the only way to alter the bow lift.
