Blades, rough side and a polished side???

Anyone heard of "roughing" the pushing side of the prop?

There are variations.

We tried it in the cup area at Mercury Racing years ago. We found it not to help and discontinued it. You will see manufacturers like Hering do the leading edge of their props. You will see other folks copy it. That is all about looks and I guess you could call it a signature.

Arguably, the best finish for performance is still satin. I know others have their own opinions.

(P.S. I wish we still had spell check on the board)

That's weird, I've usually seen it on the trailing edge of a polished prop. But again, I think anymore it's mostly done for show. I had a modded chopper that a guy put a flame job on for me. I'm sure it didn't do anything for performance, but it looked pretty cool. :evilb:

No, I can't find any. I sold the prop a couple of years back.
