Mirage + drive trimming
I recently purchased a new Mirage + 23p. My old prop was a Mirage standard.
Love the new prop and have seen about 3 mph gain and better control, holeshot, everything. Trimming the new prop is taking some getting used to, though. My old prop had this perfect and easy to find sweet spot. The new Mirage + seems harder to find that sweet spot. Moreover, drive trim was so important with the old prop, now it seems that trim doesn't effect the new prop as much... Guess it will just take some getting used to. |

you should need less positive trim with the M+ due to the extra cupping it has.
btw, I gained HUGE mid-range hook-up value. Almost a different boat! With the old prop I had to positive trim to get speed, but then the bow got light and the boat was all over the place. Now, I can positive trim only slightly and still get speed, but the bow is planted and the boat feels so much more secure. Love the new prop, but still learning it. |
The M+ props have many possible adjustments if the trim switch is being too agressive.
Is the WOT rpm where it needs to be? |

In my case my WOT is at 5600RPM and running around 68-69MPH GPS in "real world" conditions- 100 gallons of fuel (212 gal capacity), snacks, 3 people, beer coolers, towels, fishing rods, etc. The operating range is 5400-5800RPM range on 300XS's.
I've seen your new ride down there on the lift. it looks pretty nice! I'll see you on the river! |
B Blades:
Yes, my RPMs are right where they need to be: 4450 - 4550. 7.4, carbed, bone stock, bravo 1 I think the 7.4 is supposed to turn between 4200 and 4600. |
