Help with prop for new boat please.
 

I'm buying a 98 271 Formula Fastech next weekend and presently it is running a Hydromotive 29p at 4400 RPM and with a 23 5900 rpm don't know what speeds but supposedly 74 gps with the 23 pitch. The boat has a Lingenfelter upgrade to it and should have 540hp. What is the best all around prop and the best speed prop and sizes to get for this boat. Thanks for any help that you all give me. Bravo 1 with 1.5 gear.

I would probably try a 26 Bravo 1 prop.

Do you know what rpms the engine was designed to make max power. If not, you need to find out. Probably in the 5400rpm range, but you should find out for sure to prop it correctly.

Thanks I was thinking 26 myself just neede some reassurance. I would think that 5400 should be right but obviously the rev limiter is set higher. All I know for sure is that Lingenfelter built some pretty awesome engines back then.
