Generally speaking, the higher you go in XD, the more bow lift you'll lose, because you have less submerged blade area to carry/lift your bow. That's why a lot people are using 5 and 6 blade props with high XDs.
I would try the P5-Xs. Most high performance recreational boats are carrying a lot weight ahead of the CG, ie full cabins, anchor lockers with anchors, rode and rope, big amps, TVs, etc.

Appreciate the remarks. I'll give the P5Xs a try this weekend and see how they match the Bravos in regard to top speed and crusie speed.

Actually in rotation will add stern leverage and is better for bow lift. It has other disadvantages though.

5 blades can be bandaids for overly high X dimentions. Cases where the smaller number of blades can't hook up. Hopefully the decrease in drag from lifting the gear case plus the hook up with multi blades 5-6, overcomes the lack of holding the bow up. Sometimes the lower X and a 4 blade win and the boat goes faster.

Don't forget the Maximus propeller which has even larger diameters to work with as well. And they respond great to Labbing.

Also Throttle Up makes large diameter multi blade props.

I'm running 30 p5x on a 99 PQ step hull with 615hp ea. I love them I gained 2 mph with them because of the bow lift.

Has anyone had success with labbing a P5X or P5? I have heard that a Bravo is responsive to labbing, but the Hydromotives are best out of the box? Just wondering, as I test a stock one out, if there is anything else that I can expect with labbing to get it into the right rpm range?
