I'm looking in the same direction, Scott. My TG has run a best of 78 in cool weather, glass flat water @ 5200 with 500hp carbed but I want to see "80" on the needle. I'm running 28 Bravos that must have had some work done to them by Mazco since "Mazco" is stamped into them. Here's the kicker with my boat. Since it is a former F-2 boat, the XD must be a little higher than stock. I see someone added 1" spacers to the lowers to ease up on the XD a little. I'm debating removing the spacer and trying my buddie's labbed 30 Bravos. I know it's probably going to be a bit much but just want to see where it leads. Might just need to turn my 28's up a bit and have them labbed. Wife is busting my ballz to just "Leave it Alone!!!!" Nah, that's no fun!:D

To close to 80 to not try. You can always put it back to the way it was!!! Go for it. I've thought about shorties but everyone I talked to about them on a cafe said for the money its not worth the 2 or 3 mph!! But it would put me over 80!!! I'm going to try some 28's this week I'll let you guys know how it goes!!

Typically, people don't recommend them on a straight bottom Gun either but mine is probably 1500+ lbs lighter than a full cabin boat and all that would be required is to remove the spacer so why not? Might not get to it this summer but next spring.....:evilb:

Tryed a set of four blade 29 hydro's labbed to 28 by throttle up.( Thanks Dave) Cruised @ 49 @ 3500rpm but could only turn them 5100rpm an had to work for that and saw 77mph. Are we still thinking labbed 28 bravo's?

Labbed 28P Bravo I should put you at about 5500-5600 RPM. At what RPM is your peak HP produced?
