prop help
 

i have a 271 fastech with a 540ci blueprinted haul with 1inch imco shorty curantly running 77.9mph@5000rpm moter is maped@5450 looking turn about 83to81mph what prop could i use 77.9 was done with a 28p ears where cut down about .5-half inch not looking for hole shots just top end

What drive ration do you have?
If 1.5, then I'd say you're doing well slip wise with 78 @5000rpm.
Try a 26p Bravo 1 to get the rpm up to 5400...

HEY PAT talked to merc preformance in wi told me to use 30p try it get rpm,s mph call them back and will lab it after that i should pick up about 300rpm or so yes i do have a 1.5 shorty on it THANK,s

I'm not quite sure why they would tell you to go bigger. You were turning 5000 with a 28p, right?
You want to get rpms up to 5400, right?
Your going to lower rpm with a 30p.
I'd say try a stock 26p and a stock 28p and go from there...

took barge out this AM ran it at river turn 78.1 @ 5200 motor is still fresh mabe only 10 hrs on it T CROCKETT DYNO IT gave all info to merc by land line and we came up with a30pitch maybe high for now but ill run it get number,s and lab it BE HAPPY TO LET YOU KNOW THE OUT COME thank,s TONY MANZELLA

Let the motor loosen up, make adjustments and then baseline.
