BBlades hits the target!

My Velocity VR1 likes both Hydromotive and Bravo 1 props. Hall's Propeller labbed a Hydromotive Q-IV 27" and then tweaked it a second time to allow me to reach my HP peak at 53-5400 rpm. Brett at BBlades thought he could get me more speed with a labbed Bravo 1. I started with a stock 28" to get a baseline. After labbing, he made one more adjustment for bow lift and max rpm. Running within minutes of each other in three different directions, the Bravo 1 was exactly 3 mph faster on GPS than the labbed Hydromotive. Actually, the Bravo 1 was hitting the rev limiter at 5500 rpm, so there may be even more speed there. I wanted to get to 80.0 and got 81.7. Thanks Brett!

Theirs only a few good prop shops around. All my local guys can make them look pretty but for speed I go the BBLADES and his crew. It can be a trial and error type thing but they have pretty much done it all.

Brett is the man. I am very happy with the prop he did for me. What do you expect, he was trained by the god father when he worked at Merc Racing. If you want to best talk to BBlades!

Way to go BBlades. There is no substitute for experience.

I too have gotten vary good results with a BBlades modified 28p B1 pushing my little Superboat. No other 4 blade prop has been able to touch this prop.
I sent a 27p M+ out yesterday to Brett to work his magic. I'm quite confident that we will have similar success with the 3 blade.
Hey Brett,
You'll have my prop on Friday; when should I expect to get it back? No big rush, just asking what the turnaround is these days.

bbladesprops 09-05-2007 10:47 PM

You guys make this late night work all worth while. I mean that.

I hope Dennis is watching. I miss the guy, he was quite the Dandy!

Pat, it's here.

Rebel_Heart 09-05-2007 11:23 PM

Brett - I'm going to try out those 5 blade Hydromotives you labbed for me to see if I can get any more rpms with cooler weather approaching.

bbladesprops 09-06-2007 09:00 AM

Sounds good.

Wheather and water temps combined with humidity levels are a constant influence. These issues can be a propeller tuners nightmare.

Brett is great to work with. Has labbed 2 sets of props for two different boats and I would go back. In the marine biz that is as good as gold. (consistency)

BRETTS THE BESTIS OUT THERE:p:p:p, I hope to be back on the water this spring so we can test the props that we were going to test before all my chit was stolen:rolleyes:. I am sure DENNIS IS WATCHING WITH A SMILE:D. art

bbladesprops 09-17-2007 07:40 PM

Thanks guys. I hope Dennis is proud. BBLADES has always operated with Dennis in mind.

Ths Bravo 1 props do have more Labbing possibilities but the Hydro's have thir place. On Bajas the B1's usually work better before or after Labbing.

Escape Velocity 09-18-2007 06:46 PM

[QUOTE=marylandmark;2275142]I've heard that B1's take better to labbing and hydro's are better stock. Did you ever run with the stock Hydro- just wondrering...

I ran for a year with the stock Hydro. The particular lab I received improved the hole shot, but even after an additional lab tweak, there was almost no improvement on the top end. Maybe I should have used ThrottleUp to lab the Hydro, but Hall's reportedly knows what Velocity boats need.

bbladesprops 09-18-2007 07:21 PM

Labbing does work with Hydro's, it just has to be done completely different from the norm. I'm not sure many shops including the manufacturer knows this. We have experimented to great lengths with these props. You can make them better in certain areas but the Bravo 1's are more moldable. That's not to take anything away from Hydromotive.

Escape Velocity, can you tell me what you are running for an engine? Are you spinning the prop RT or LT?

Thanks!

Jeff

MarylandMark, good research on finding my engine picture! This picture was taken before the rest of the Raylar dress-up plates were added. The engine dynoed 576 HP with the stock fuel system, stock throttle body, and stock computer program. I have upgraded all three components as this is required to achieve the full potential of the Raylar HO 600. I'm running a right hand propeller.

Hey Guys.
BBlades does it again!

Hey Brett,
With full fuel and solo, I saw 78+ @ 4900rpm with the newly labbed 27p M+...:D
