Checkmate prop advice
I have a Checkmate 283 Convincor (same as current 300) with a 24 degree V hull, no pad. This is a heavy boat, especially in the middle as it has a fridge, cabinets, sink etc. I can't get the thing to air out, I have to use all the positive trim it has to get the bow up even a little. I have tried a merc racing labbed 26P Bravo 1 and I gained 200 rpms, but hardly went any faster than my stock 26P Bravo. This boat has run a best of 70.5 mph gps with a stock B1 @5000 rpms. Would an extension box help? I am running a mostly stock 525sc with a bravo 1 drive. I estimate the weight at 6200 pounds (on the water, with people, fuel etc...). Any help will be appreciated.

Talk to Brett at BBlades he can lab you a 26 like he did for me. He added cup to the prop and now I can carry the bow. I think your numbers are pretty good for your current set up. I run 73-74 gps 99 Checkmate ZT280 500efi. I am very happy with my prop, I was running a consistent 69 before with a 24 bravo 1.

talk to brett about the rev 25 he can lab it, also measure from the prop shaft at level to the keel of the boat a deep drive will be 7 1/2'' to 6 1/2 '', if you keep it at that a rev 4 25 done by brett will do wonders. I f you can buy a imco 2'' shortie you will see more speed with a b1 if you now have a 41/2 to 5 '' shaft height. I have a small pad, added the shortie and a carb change got a total of 8 mph gps Iran out of prop could have been a lil more. but call brett for sure.
