adding cup for bow lift

If a b1 bravo is tweeked for adding bow lift (Cup I assume) will this reduce the rpm at all?

Great question!

It may or, if done correctly on the right boat, add rpm!

If the process is done right in a situation that dictates it, the decrease in hull drag could actually increase the rpm.

Done wrong, the R's will drop.

I'm telling you Tom; send Brett your prop.
My boat gained 150rpm and 1-2mph with this modification, not a full lab job.
I need less trim to free her up and the sweet spot is bigger.
Tomorrow we'll find out what magic BBlades worked on my M+.

Pat, I value your opinion greatly, Thanks. I'm trining to learn as much as possible before sending off props. My engine builder has several props he wants me to try. I figure I see what's up with them first because there free. When I figure out what the boat likes I send off my prop.
Keep us informed on your #'s

Brett, I like what your saying.
Thank you.

On my Bravo prop for the Pantera I had rake increased 3*, a little cupping added for bow lift and the trailing edge thinned to reduce stern lift. It was done by Houston Propeller before his downfall. I'm not sure how good of job he did, but rpm remained about the same and picked up a couple mph through out the rpm range.

Talk to Pete in CT and Morgan in NY.
They both run BBlades modified Bravo one props on their 28' Panteras with similar power as you.
I think Morgan also runs a P5-X.
Pete (Madison), Anthony (T-Mone), and I were out running together last night.
Pete told us that his boat ran 79mph loaded with 3 guys, fuel and gear on our Block Island trip with a 26p; 80+ with a 28p.
Of course props were one of the subjects as we tilted one on the beach...:ernaehrung004:
