Props with rubber hub vs solid hub
 

The boat have has Twin 330 TRS I am trying to decide between buying rubber hub props vs. solid hub, I would like to put rubber ones on but am worried about spinning them. Is this a concern for me?

Yes the hub will spin. With a 330hp they may last a little while, but not very long.

Rubber hubs will help protect your drives. If I remember right the solid hubs are for 400 hp and up. Blowing a hub is easier to deal with than a blown drive. How long they last will depend on how hard you run it.

weight of boat
prop pitch and diameter
durometer (hardness) of the rubber of the hub
water conditions
your driving style
where you boat
and more
You should be fine with rubber hubs.
There are cases where we will put solid hubs on 225 outboards, offshore fisherman who only know one throttle position, WOT, and will cover several hundred miles a day and may be over 100 miles from shore. They are not in a position to deal with a spun hub.
I have run plastic hub inserts behind 525's with 6 blade props and they have held up. If your boating keeps you close to where you launch the boat and don't travel far from shore where the likelyhood of hitting an underwater object is greater the rubber hub may be a better option for you.

Another factor is what hub style your props have. It may be impractical to instal a solid hub in your current props, especially if they have an aft load style hub.

The boat is a 1979 31 Excalibur I have been told it wieghs about 9,000. I don't know how true it is. I have 3 sets of cleavers, all solid hub, and well I always liked the rubber hubs on my last boat, but that had an Alpha one with a 350 mag. I would like to run rubber hub props for all the reason mentioned, but I dont' want to spin the hub either.

Alphas need a rubber type hub, Trs does not. If you own the solid props I would use them. If you are boating where it shallow and you tend to find the bottom maybe the rubber hub is in order. Good luck,

Mercury recomends solid hubs over 400 HP. We recomend solid hubs over 300 HP unless your boating locations involve often contact with solid bottoms like rocks and coral.

It shouldn't matter with the Delrin hub since it is made to shatter not flex. The difference with rubber shouldn't be noticable.
