What prop do I need

Need props for 33' Fountain Executioner, LH-RH, 502 motors with 420 HP. TRS . Just need a good all around prop. The boat came with a Mirage LH 25" prop, but that was for the early big HP motors that were in it. Thanks Harry

Harry, Do you have the RH Mirage 25 for the other side, or are they not counter-rotating drives? How does it run with the 25's? (RPM vs Speed) I am assuming by the age of the boat you have deep X dimensions, and then a 3 blade design will run the most efficiently. maybe a Mirage plus...

Carder, the RH prop was missing when I bought the boat. I'm in the process of purchasing two 502, 420 HP motors from the classified section of OSO. I don't know the RPM's for the motors, or planing speed, just need a starting point, and didn't know if the Mirage was good for 420's, knowing the previous owner had HUGE HP's Thanks Harry

The 502 should run at about 5000 RPM at WOT. I would imagine that your drives are pretty deep on an 83 so 3B props may indeed be the correct blade confuguration on your hull. I would try to baseline some props, start with 25P Mirage Plus props since you only need to find one rotation and then decide were to go from there.

I think, Julie, the God Mother of my recent twins, makes good sense... you just need a single RH prop to get you started, then you can dial the boat in as you become familiar with its unique characteristics... She may even have one in her arsenal. Carder

If your original propeller is not a Plus series, you will want to find matching propellers to test with. We have the full line of B1 and M+ props to choose from if you need help.

Just give us a call.
