prop rpm vs engine rpm are they the same

Say you have a bravo one 1.5 drive, does this mean your prop is turning 1.5 times faster than the engine rpms?

I will leave this to the gurus, but I always thought it was 1.5 times slower, so if you go to a 1.36, you are spinning your prop faster than a 1.5.

Kubcat is correct. Engine turns faster than prop.

Gear Ratio is the number crank shaft rotations to the prop.

1.5:1 means the engine turns one and a half times each time the prop rotates once.

Higher g.r. number / lower gears more torque.
