Mercury Prop Warranty?
I have a Bravo 1 26P prop on my center engine that threw the tip of the blade off. There is not a mark on my skeg and the other blades on the prop are clean with zero signs of abuse or hitting bottom.
It looks like a defect in the casting and a clean break right off. No bent metal or like anything cut it off. This is the stock prop that came with the boat and I have owned it 2 years with only 165hrs on it. Does anyone if Mercury warrants this type of thing and how I would call to look into this? thanks! Arrgh I called Julie at Throttle Up looking for a used stock Bravo 1 26p and she did not have one. Also found found the prop is only under warranty for a year. I guess I have to buy a new one.

Yes the props are only warranted for 1 year. Call customer service at 920-929-5040 and see if they are willing to help. I used to work in that department. They can and most likely will say no but it is worth a shot. You will definately need a reciept if you get to that point. Good luck.

I wonder if its one of the older props that was machined in the wrong direction, creating a stress risers and cracking?I ate 3 of them:(

Rob, we don't talk about that anymore. LOL
The stock props changed the machining process in the early 2000's stopping the TE failure. The Labbed propellers from Mercury Racing never had the issue because of the way we Lab Finished the Bravo 1's. SIDENOTE.........X7 is a direct result. |
