Eagle 25..need new prop!
This is for any prop gurus out there, want an opinion...
Have a 25 eagle with the 525sc. Current setup is 27 mach 4 blade running 5400-5500 rpm at 81mph. Had the local guy add cup to get the bow up. Helped angle, but no speed gain. Think this prop is maxxed out? My question is, boat planes easily now, and would like a bit more top end. Motor runs best between 4800-5200, according to mercury. Will be adding 7.5 psi pulley, and dana exhaust and MSD ignition this weekend. Am expecting to get even more past the recommended RPM after this. So...should I consider a 3 blade merc labbed? 29 maybe? Want more top end, bottom to mid isn't really that important, don't like to launch the boat anyway. Anyone have a testing program that allows you to buy the right prop?? Thanks!!! Mike |
before buying a 3 blade, I would try one, had similar boat with same engine package and the 3 blade would cavitate just as the bow would break and would have to back off the throttle until it settled in and it would cavitate during mild to sharp turns, 4 blade never loses water, try a 28 or 30 bravo 1 prop.

BBLADES offers a test program that allows boaters to test props with no strings attached.
The program will cost you $25 to borrow a propeller for 15 days (enforced). You learn from the testing and determine what way to go from there. You are not obligated to purchase from us in any way. |
Awesome
Am trading a nice OSO member my 27 for his 28. If that doesn't get it done I will definitely be calling you!! I would LOVE to try a 29 labbed or something, to see what happens. Need to keep my RPM under 5250.
thanks again for all your good work on this board |
