Brett
Brett,
Got the results on the bravo one 30/4 blade you sent last week. Pretty much as expected, not as much top end as I thought. Maybe just a touch too much pitch, but close. Old Mach 27....5400 rpm max = 81 mph New bravo 30....4900 rpm max = 83 mph Cruise at 3000 rpm= 52 mph, supercruise 4000 rpm = 69! Wow, got a much more efficient boat here, with gas at $4. Midrange is still strong, boat accelerates hard to 70-73. The only thing i noticed is, noticeably more chine walk at top end? Can a prop cause this? Should we try a 5 blade hydro or something? Thanks, Mike Tulsa |
Yes we can try a 5 blade propeller.
Also, we can talk about a adjustment to the B1. |
Thats a big jump from the 27 Mach to the 30 B1 ? Is the Mach 3 blade ? I bet if Brett "tunes" the 30 and gets the RPM back you'll get the results your looking for
|
Yeah
It is a pretty big jump, but the boat really needed it. Brett, I think the boat needs a 28.5 to be about perfect. The 30 kicks azz but i'm afraid that if i have a full boat it will be a little doggy. Can you take that 30 and "lab" it or something to get me another 150-200 rpm? Bow lift was good, so good in fact that might be causing my chine walk..
I will send the prop back to ya, and if you can send me a 5 blade hydro to try (or whatever you recommend) that would be similar, and that doesn't work, you could go ahead and work the 30 over, right? THANKS, MIKE |
With your 525SC, I would prop it to run a solid 5200rpms. I had mine dialed in to run just shy of the 5350 rev limiter with just me, light fuel and 70* air temps. It would run about 5200rpms then with 4 peeps and 80 gallons of fuel.
Also, fuel consumption goes up quite a bit when the secondaries open around 3800-4000rpms. |
