Precision Propellors
I have been reading in a different area about the precision propellors. I think Brett at Bblades thinks these are good props. Any input on what application these work best on? What props that we are familiar with are they like?

I have an '06 35 TS w/ 525s bone stock and have been working with Brett @ BBlades testing some props, including a set of "as cast", "non labbed" 15 /1/4 X 30 5 blades from Precision Propeller. You can read the whole deal @ " 35 Lightning with a hop", post #19, on the Fountain forum. So far this is the results with the Precision Props, speaks for itself. I'm waiting for a response from Brett on the data I sent him sunday on these, I think there is more here. This is not a one time deal, I put this number up every time all afternoon. |
Thanks for the input. I'll have to give Brett a call to see if he thinks it woud work in my application. How would you compare this prop aganist other props that we might be familar with, such as Bravo, Maximus, P5X or P5? Thanks.

I have run my 32 Bravos a fair bit and they work well. Handling is very good and the speed is not bad for non-lab versions, best was 90 mph. I think lab 34s would be a bit faster. I did run some 15 5/8s X 30 non lab Maximus 5 blades for an afternoon. They didn't work too well in their stock form, but BBlades has a recipe that should cure them. They ran a best of 88 mph in flat water, a dead match to the Bravo 32s in the same conditions. The big diameter and diffuser was pushing the stern up and hurt the handling. Again mods would help. I have not run any of the Hydromotive props at all, I have a couple friends that did and they did not have much luck with them on their boats. The easy way to follow this is to go over to the Fountain forum, to the thread "35 Lightning with a hop", post #19. It's all there, so far. I will say that I am impressed with these Precision Props, the boat really likes them as well. |
