4 Blade I.o Prop On Outboard ?

Can I run a 4 blade Hydromotive bravo prop on a new 300 Opti ?? I would normally be goingt to run a 32 three blade . I think the lack of vent holes will not be a problem , what do the pros think ? The reason I ask is that I have a like new 30 pitch 4 blade in box .

Don't know much about OB but my father has run bass-boats since I was born and has been running 4 blade props for years. For him, hole shot is better, topend doesn't sufer much.

I run a Revolution plus on my 225, no problem, so long as you have the power to turn it.

Thanks , but your missing the point , I'm in hurry to Drive my 32 Skater , 300 Opti's will be here soon and I have a new RH 30 Bravo 4 blade from my race boat , will this prop fit shaft and clear gearcase ?

I am presently running 4 blade 26" Bravo's on my Opti's and they work just fine with no issues, but they are only 225's... Hope this helps!

Thanks, Karl

Is the lack of vent holes an issue ?

Thunder1 06-16-2008 01:05 PM

Not an issue... The application is a 34 Fountain with Trips and a fairly high X demension... Was the chase boat for Rio Roses a couple of years ago and the props work just fine although it did come with 24's on it... I would think you have it covered and best of luck!

Thanks, Karl

The Fountain was an Outboard ?

Have BBLADES put vent holes in the props.. They nailed the prop setup on our 28 powerplay with twin 300's. Labbed 28" bravo 1 4 blades with vent holes

Yup and still is...

I spoke to Todd @ Hydromotive , More than likely on my Skater I won't need vent holes , on a heavy vee bottom yes . The bad news is I have a Quad 4 - X which is more of a round ear bow lifting prop. need a pair of 30 Quad 4 , they are more cleaver style .

The props will fit if they have square bores to accept the HD inserts.

I still think you will "benefit" from venting the props.

The rev limiters are low, the boat is efficiant and the pitch may need to be raised from 30. This will create low end issus. May only happen with full fuel and people. Remains to be seen.
