hub kits

835258k2 and 835258q2

835258k1 and 835258q1

Hub kits can become confusing.

Yes both kits are solid inserts. The K versus Q is only the branding. K is a Mercury box, Q is a Quicksilver box. Parts are the same.

The 1 versions are .aprox. 1/4" longer than the 2's. Mercruser casting propellers use the 1 and the Mercury Marine castings use the 2. The word Mercruiser or Mercry Maine is cast into the propellr above the word Bravo 1. There needs to be a 1/4" depth step from the propeller to the insert when the insert is pressed in.

I could tell you why this all happened but it is too much typing.

Brett ,, thanks for answering my questions,,and clearing up the issues with k and Q .Seems to me mercruiser and mercury marine should have made the same length hubs to simplify things ...........thanks again ,, Bob
