prop for 23 rinker
I have a rinker 236, 502 mag carb, I have tried 3 diff. props with the following results.
Stock came with 21p mirage- 58.5 mph 5300 rpm good holeshot 25p mirage+ labbed- 58.5 mph 4200 rpm- bogged motor slow hole shot 23p mirage- 58.5 mph 4900rpm good hole shot I didnt realize the plus added so much pitch. I havent found a prop that is in the correct rpm range yet. Next up is a 23P mirage + to get me in the 44-4800 rpm range. My prop slip is 17% on all props. The boat needs almost full trim to get top speed. Just before it starts putting out a rooster tail. Should I try a Bravo 1 prop? |
try the rev 4 23p should put you in the 4700 rpm range and if it works for you have Brett at BBlades lab it for you. Good luck, keep us posted. Also look into the Hydromotive QIV-X props(bow lift). very consistant prop that comes in all P ranges.

Also I should mention the center of the prop shaft is 8inches below the pad. Doesnt this seem too low?
|
Boats like yours like bow lift and low prop shafts can help that. However, coming up 1-2 inches would more than likely increase the top speed some since you are that deep. We have test props if you are interested.

update
I had already bought a mirage 23 p+, I also tried a 24p B1. the mirage23+ turned 4700rpm 60.7 mph. So i picked up 2mph getting it in the proper powerband. I tried the B1 top speed was 58.5 at 4500rpm. better hole shot and good handling. Overall Im really happy with the mirage 23+

Lab the 23 M+ to match your hull and you will have even more speed and acceleration.

I have a rev 4 on my 93 rinker captiva 236 cuddy with the 454mag and i hit 59 in it turning 5100 with four guys and half tank. I do want to try out that mirage 23 though.
