Welded hub in Hydromotive P5?
Was looking at a pair of used P5's new to the classifieds yesterday. The owner told me that the props have less than 5 hours on them and are only a couple years old. He claims the hubs are welded. Can this be so? He was using them on standard Bravos and I have the bigger shafts XR's. I'm not familiar with Hydromotives but I can't imagine the hubs being welded in. My thoughts were that the hubs didn't fall out and might just need some "gentle persuasion" Anyone?????

Just talked to Hydromotive....they say it could very well be a welded in hub. $225 to remove the smaller hub and weld in one for my bigger shaft XR.

the older hydros came with solid 'welded' hubs. they will change them out for $225 if you don't supply the XR hub. IF you have an XR hub laying around (from a bravo prop etc.), you can send that to them with the prop and they will remove the old hub and weld in your XR hub for $85. you are really paying for the cost of the new hub with the $225 price.

We offer the same service. The hub assembly with the hardware is $119. The labor is $90.
Let me know if we can help. Brett |
